Assessments

Assessments are available for children and some adults.

Assessments can be completed to:

  • understand communication skills and develop therapy plans

  • explore a formal diagnosis

  • support NDIS funding applications

  • request additional support and funding at school

  • support participation in mealtimes

Communication assessments for adults are provided case-by-case. Adult swallowing assessments and mealtime management plans are not available.

Therapy

Face-to-Face and Online

Regular therapy appointments are available within your home, education or community setting. Alternatively appointments can be held online.

Appointments are available for children, some teenagers and some adults. Therapy for school aged children and adults are provided case-by-case.

Appointments are available for:

  • early language development

  • speech and language

  • social communication

  • AAC and multimodal communication

  • mealtime support

Short Term Support

Initial Consults and Short Term Therapy

Initial consults or one-off appointments are available to parents/carers who want to know more about their child's communication skills. Initial consults are helpful if you are concerned about your child's language development and want to know what to do next.

Short-term blocks of therapy are also available for clients who need therapy while they wait for funding or wait for a regular, ongoing appointment with another therapist. This could be suitable for someone who is waiting for NDIS funding, needs a report for funding applications at school or someone who needs some strategies while they wait for another speech pathology service.

NDIS Participants

Plan Managed and Self Managed

Border Speech Clinic is not a registered NDIS provider and can not provide a service to participants with agency managed funding.
